A trades background with extensive practical experience in the mining and ongoing training. Or an engineering degree with extensive practical supervisory experience in the mining industry or related industry. Experience with Crushers, Sizers, SAG and Ball Malls Conveyor belt repair and maintenance High computer skills and fluent in all the main Microsoft suits including Excel, Word, Project, and Access. Can speak French and/or local language(s) Practical supervision of maintenance teams in a process plant environment of at least 10 years

Mission

Set a high standard in personal safety performance in the plant, as well as inspiring a high level of safety. Awareness within the Plant Mechanical group. Coordinate and chair weekly or monthly safety meetings as required. Ensure that all company and departmental safety procedures and standards are followed during the execution of work, such as isolation and tag-out, safe work permits, and JSA’s. Ensure that inspections and procedures, including periodic plant and workshop inspections, tool and rigging inspections, accident and incident investigations are carried out to a high standard. Ensure that all required safety training is provided and that safety training requirements are identified and actioned. Prepare budget for mechanical maintenance group, and regularly report against budget. Monitor and analyse spares usage, and continually seek to improve usage. Ensure that Supervisors provide the planning section with timely and quality input into work requests to ensure a high standard of work orders. Weekly Plan – Ensure that maintenance crews achieve high compliance to the ‘Weekly Plan’, and to the ‘Shutdown Plans’. Work completed – Monitor that work orders are completed to a good standard and returned to the planning department in a timely manner. Maintenance of Equipment and tools – Ensure that all tools and equipment used by the workshop crews are maintained to a high standard. Quality – Monitor the quality of work produced in the workshops and establish procedures to verify and improve the quality of work. Contractors – Coordinate the work of specialist maintenance contractors required by Process Plant, such as for the liner changes in both mill and primary crusher. Continually review with Foremen and supervisor’s job procedures to improve work procedures from a safety and time point of view. Coordinate with the Plant Production Section to identify and resolve maintenance problems, both in the workshops and in the plant.
