Job requirements Experience: Two years of switchboard operating experience is required. Job knowledge: Must be knowledgeable about the U.S. Mission, its organizations, their functions, and have a familiarity with personnel. Must know local customs and greetings. Education Requirements: Completion of secondary school is required. Language: Level III (good working knowledge) of writing/speaking/reading English is required. Level III (good working knowledge) of writing/speaking/reading Wolof is required. Level II French (good working knowledge) writing/speaking/reading is required.

Mission

The incumbent manually routes telephone calls using the Mitel Telephone Switchboard/Operators console and sends and receives faxes. The incumbent receives, transfers and places local, international voice and fax calls and tracks calls for billing purposes. Skills and abilities: This is a customer service oriented position dealing with USG employees in both official and personal capacities, locally and internationally. Must be able to interact with local citizens, business persons and government officials. Basic typing skills are required. Must be able to use the Mitel Telephone System Switchboard Console and various makes and models of facsimile machines.
