Essential qualifications, skills and experience Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and spoken. Able to express ideas and messages clearly and concisely, both orally and in written communication. Excellent organisational skills and with a keen eye for detail. A minimum of three years of experience leading and managing a diverse and multi-disciplined team. Demonstrates excellent staff management skills and effective communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain a range of contacts at all levels. IT literate and well versed in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications. Financial and commercial understanding Desirable qualifications, skills and experience Recognised qualification / experience in facilities management or relevant engineering discipline. Background/ Certification of Health and Safety practices in the work place. Recognised qualification / experience in project management. Mission

Estates Management: (60%) Direct the management of the embassy’s estate, leading the 11 person team, ensuring that UK and local standards are met through planned and reactive maintenance and in compliance with corporate procedures, including local and UK health and safety regulations and policy. Tender then manage contracts and supplier performance, communicating requirements, monitoring implementation and making sure that service level agreements are met. Find new suppliers where necessary. Maintain a direct line to estates resources in London or elsewhere in the network, taking advantage of their expertise and making sure that central processes are being followed, for example by using the forward maintenance register to make sure preventative maintenance is carried out. Monitor and forecast estates budgets and expenditure. Plan, measure and monitor estates performance against set targets, preparing reports as required. Oversee the sourcing of residential properties, lead negotiations and make recommendations to the post housing committee (PHC). Play active role in PHC responding to all Estates queries and concerns.Deputy Corporate Services Manager (CSM) Support the CSM in managing the day to day functioning of the 1 HMG platform. Effective oversight of the CS Team’s key business performance indicators to ensure they meet or exceed global and local service delivery standards. Support CSM with the oversight of FCDO financial and budget management. Provide high quality financial corporate returns e.g. Monthly budget and finance reports, Medium Term Financial Planning. Support the CSM in ensuring best practice is applied in the procurement of goods and services Support the CSM with HR and staffing matters, including policies and practices relating to employment terms, pay and benefits, performance management, people development, induction etc. ensuring best practice and compliance with FCDO policies and local employment legislation. Long term planning to ensure the consistent provision of corporate services during periods of high demand. This will include financial, team-planning, and managing change processes. Back up accountant, HERA and CTIBANK Approver and GTPC uploader. Adhoc team support tasks. Support other members of the corporate services team as required. Responsible for estates contingency plans and act as the coordinator in crisis situations. Deputise for the corporate services manager during periods of absence. People (20%) Assist CSM in setting clear performance objectives and upholding standards across the CS Team; providing ongoing monitoring and support to team members to ensure all perform to the best of their abilities, and promote a culture of continuous personal development.
